The excellent folks at Palestra Society invited me to speak at the Palestra Bureau event last year in El Salvador. The event was beautifully run, and had a slate of exceptional speakers that I was honored to be a part of.
The talk I gave is a combination of the following essays:
Curtis Yarvin was a speaker as well (he spoke right after me, I think that makes me his opening act), you can see his talk here. There were members of the Bukele administration in the audience. It was a memorable experience.
The event took place at the Teatro Nacional in San Salvador. In a past life, it used to literally be the territorial boundary of warring gangs and was incredibly dangerous (I was told some brutal stories about just how dangerous). I often walked around at night, and the whole place felt very safe. There were military police everywhere. I really enjoyed my time, especially surrounded by such an elite group of people.
Here are some pictures from my time there:
Me gazing over downtown San Salvador before my talk, pondering (intellectually).

Day 2 agenda:
The Palestra House, where I stayed while in El Salvador. Gorgeous views. It’s a house straight out of a scene in Scarface. I stayed there for a couple weeks.
